- How does ozone air treatment work?
Ozone is an unstable form of oxygen. Its third oxygen atom is loosely held and "wants" to break away and react with other substances. It is the instability caused by this "extra" oxygen atom that leads to ozone's powerful oxidizing ability. Air-borne pollutants such as bacteria, viruses, and odorous molecules react with ozone and are thus eliminated. Otherwise, after 20-30 minutes at room temperature and pressure the ozone molecule will revert back to oxygen molecules, leaving behind no harmful by-products.

- Is ozone air treatment safe?
Ozone is accepted by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a safe air treatment method. Several homes, offices, restaurants and public buildings benefit from this chemical free technology. However, the WHO does not recommend that humans be continuously exposed to ozone levels greater than 0.1 ppm.
- What makes Ozomax ozone generators different from the rest?
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) examined the effectiveness of Ozone treatment. The study evaluated the performance of ozone air treatment units that operate on the principle of injecting enough ozone into the room to maintain an ambient concentration of 0.1 ppm. The study concluded that this level is basically insufficient to carry out adequate air purification. It was found that higher ozone levels are required to effectively remove odours, neutralize bacteria and kill viruses. Yet, the WHO does not recommend that humans be continuously exposed to levels greater than 0.1 ppm.
Ozomax air treatment products have overcome this problem through the innovative design of its ozone generators. Instead of carrying out the purification process in the ambient air found in the room, Ozomax products siphon the polluted air found in the room using fans or blowers. Within the internal reaction chamber the air is treated at very high ozone levels (approximately 3 ppm) destroying odours, bacteria and viruses quickly and efficiently.
