Disinfection

Ozone has 1.5 times the oxidizing potential of chlorine and 3000 times that of hypochlorous acid. The required contact time for ozone disinfection is typically 4-5 times less than that of chlorine. Moreover, ozone does not form any THMs (tri-halomethanes) or complex chlorinated compounds which have been linked to cancer.

For these reasons ozone is being used in a variety to industries including

  • Drinking water treatment including municipal water treatment
  • Food storage and disinfection
  • Air-borne and water-borne pathogen treatment
  • Water bottling water treatment and bottle disinfection
  • Clean-in-Place applications
  • Any many more...
